Hello darlings! Long time no haul ^^ I've had so many things I wanted to post about that this haul got delayed over and over but today I've finally managed to get to do it. These are things that I've purchased in the last six-seven months. Hope this helps you with your beauty shopping : )
One of my first purchases after my failed spend ban back in January was two Skin79 BB creams (read full review here), a Whitening Mask and a primer. I have a love-hate relationship with those BBs because they seem to work very well on my skin during Winter, but then when Summer comes, they are too moisturizing and make my face really oily. I still recommend them, it's better to have any of these on your face than any other foundation because I do notice that over time they brighten my complexion. On the other hand, they don't have good coverage and might be too much for oily skins so have that in mind. The Oriental has a blush on the cap that is mighty beautiful, very natural and quite long lasting on it's own too. I wanted to love the Tony Moly Tomatox mask, I really did, I mean look at the packaging, isn't it the cutest thing ever? It smells really good too, but I don't love it, it didn't do anything noticeable for my skin. I didn't want it to waste so I still use it combined with other products; I've become obsessed with mixing several masks and other natural ingredients such as honey and oatmeal for creating "potions" of my own, the result: supple, soft, hydrated and brightened skin, not too bad : ) What can I say about the Etude House Goodbye Pore Ever primer that hasn't been said already? It was featured in my Love ~ Like ~ Loathe post back in March and I still like it. It doesn't make my foundation last longer but it does even out my skin and helps spread the products a lot easier and evenlier. I got several samples with that order too among which there was the Dr Jart Silver Label Rejuvenating BB cream (read full review here) and this is hands down the best BB cream out there for oily, acne-prone, uneven skin. It's medium to full coverage, helps heal blemishes faster and fades scars as well. I seriously recommend you try this product or any from the black label line, I swear you won't be disappointed!
What do you do when you promise yourself you wouldn't buy any more makeup? You buy skincare and haircare, am I right? haha And that's exactly what I did, I got the Garnier Oil Repair leave on conditioner, already featured in a past monthly favourites post and the Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash Pink Grapefruit Foaming Scrub (longest name ever!). I still love the Garnier one, it detangles, adds shine and leaves the hair soft and smelling really nice. The Acne wash is quite nice too, it has tiny exfoliating beads, it's not harsh on the skin, it cleans thoroughly and smells divine. It's not as good as my beloved Neutrogena Rapid Clear or the Deep Clean Energizing Daily Scrub, but it's better than the Deep Clean cleanser (featured here). I also got the Eucerin DermoPurifyer Toner. I'm still testing it out but so far it's a major disappointment. The second ingredient on the list is alcohol... need I say more? : (
Another purchase any beauty junkie on a makeup spend ban does is buy brushes. This is madness people! I have more brushes than underwear, I kid you not! Anyway, I like browsing iHerb.com once in a while and to my surprise I found that Ecotools (the very first brushes I owned that I loved) had revamped their design and added several new sets to their collection. I couldn't resist and I got the Six Piece Day-to-Night Set. At first I was like "why did I get this? I'm never going to use these brushes, I have enough of the Real Techniques to last me a lifetime already!" but to my surprise the powder, detail and smudge brushes are too good to be left behind. They're now part of my everyday routine. The smudge brush is great for applying darker colours to the crease and works amazing for small eyes like mine, I'm delighted with these!
Another pleasant surprise was to find that they now sell Bdellium Tools too. Ever since Glamtrotter talked about them I was curious to try them and a lot of bloggers had been recommending them for years so I couldn't pass on them and I must say I'm glad I didn't. I got the Travel Eyes 12 Pieces Set, an extra fine liner and a smokey eyeliner brush and I adore them all. They're very well constructed and designed to perform amazingly, even when the eyeshadows are of poor quality, what more could you ask for, right? Well, they're also antibacterial, meaning that they have been previously treated to prevent mold and fungus growing on the bristles, pretty neat, no? I want more of these (* ´ω` *)
One of the latest things to arrive was my MUA Cosmetics order. I've already done an in-depth review of the Undress Me Too palette and the Lip Balms but I'm still testing out the glitter liners so I can't say much, though as far as first impressions go, the glitter liners are quite good, they have a decent lasting power but, they're not meant to be blended out so don't expect them to behave as loose glitter and also, you might want to wait 40 to 60 seconds before you open your eye when you apply them to the lid. I haven't used the Undressed palette or the Extreme Curl and Every Lash Volume & Lengthening mascaras yet so I can't write about them.
That's it for this haul. I hope my thoughts on some of the products come in handy and if there's something in particular you'd like me to do a thorough review, just say so in the comments. Have a great Friday and weekend my darlings.
