Hi dear readers. Today I have somewhat of a rant post about beauty bloggers without ethics to share. Why most product reviews we seem to read these days turn out to be "inaccurate"? Ah yes, because some bloggers want cosmetics brands to send them more stuff for free, but why? Why would they want to get a crappy product for free? Would that be good for their egos? Would that increase their popularity? Since many bloggers seem too anxious to get in that "private cirle" of product testing and want a piece of the "free samples" action I'm guessing the answer to both questions is 'yes'. Whether they started blogging for fun or to make a living out of it, they should have in mind that what they say has an impact on others, and that if they recommend something, someone is going to want to try it. I guess I haven't been disappointed enough by people and want to believe that if someone tries a product for weeks (or so they say, how can we even know anymore?), takes the time to write a post and snap pictures, then that person's opinion is valuable. Maybe it used to be like that before, now it's a bit different, considering YouTube and blogging have become big business oportunities and even highly sought out careers, it was only a matter of time before some girls started "lying" in order to get ahead.
Greed is driving this beloved community to hell, I'm sorry, that's just how I feel. Doesn't it bother you how many "little" blogs aren't in the spotlight while so many others climb to the top using less than honourable ways? It does to me. This isn't the community I want to belong to, do you? How many bloggers/youtubers receive free PR samples and don't say so when "reviewing" them? They want you to think they can afford all that stuff just by sitting around their houses while talking about beauty. I pitty their families because they're the ones supporting them financially, it's seriously disappointing.
I've recently unfollowed and unsubscribed several blogs, twitter accounts and youtube channels, I'm bored with everyone talking about the same damn thing, "hoarding" the same damn products. Aren't you sick of being lied to your face by these girls and their "alleged" favourites? I am. Whether you think this is a matter worth thinking over or not, have in mind that every time you click to read a blog or to watch a video you are a supporter and an enabler. Choose wisely, you deserve honesty and respect.
Sorry this was not an upbeat, fun post like most times but I needed to get this out of my chest. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and commenting, it trully means a lot to me.
